End of Life Doula Care

I have been certified by the University of Vermont as an end-of-life (eol) doula. This is an emergent practice that began for me when I guided my own beloved mother through her end-of-life transition. That work, in those final months, weeks, and days meant being deeply present with and for her. It manifested as pure expressions of love and care. Your experiences guiding your loved ones through the end of life may feel similar. But what eol doula care can also be, for you and your loved ones, is the intentional acts of planning those final months, weeks, and days. Planning who will be present with you, and how. Planning how, where, and by whom you will received the kinds of care you want. Planning can also mean ensuring that your body and spirit are honored in the period directly after your passing. If you need support with planning or if you are looking for additional support for yourself or a loved one at your end-of-life, please feel free to reach out at jenrittner (at) gmail (dot) com.
